Dying, saves, negative experience, torches, transport and more.

What will happen if I die?

You wake up on the last blue square you stepped on. If you were not saved, your corpse lies where you died with all your equipment and inventory. You have 30 minutes to get back to it; after that it disappears, along with your items.

Can another player get my items from my corpse?

Only if you allow it: type /allow <player name>. Quest items and keys can only be taken from a corpse by the one who died.

What is negative experience?

When you die, you lose experience points. Once this negative experience is made up, the experience you earn counts towards your next level again.

What are saves?

With each new level you also receive a Save, a gift from Ishtar: if you die, your items stay with you and you do not get negative experience. You can hold at most ten.

Why is everything dark suddenly?

Your torch has burned out, the sun has set, or you entered a dark place. Equip and light a torch. It is always a good idea to carry several.

Why can’t I use the teleport system?

You can only travel to places whose Transport Station you have touched before. Visit the station once, and it stays on your map.

What is a recall scroll?

A scroll that takes you back to the last blue square you stepped on. Merchants sell them.

How do I join a clan?

Talk to members of the clan you wish to join. If they agree, a clan leader meets you at the Clanmaster in Aston and accepts you.

Can I keep my Bless going?

Type /autobless to have Bless re-cast for you automatically.

Who is the Macro Daemon?

A character who may appear from time to time and ask you a simple question, which you must answer within five minutes. He guards against players who use macros to gain experience unfairly.

What is the Pentagram Quest?

A game all players from about level 10 can play together in "the pents", a large cavern divided by level. Touch as many pentagrams as you can while fighting off the demons. When enough pentagrams have been touched, the pents are solved and you receive experience for those you touched.

Another player is harassing me. What can I do?

Type /complain <player> [reason] to report it, and /ignore <name> to stop seeing what that player says to you.
